解題方式：

第一句The author argued that the field of sociology has been overly (i)_____, partly because, for many scholars, the edges of social universe are defined by national borders. 順過去有個because因果表示他的前後邏輯同向，因此because後面的特徵是 the edges，national borders，這個the 他不是平白無故出現的，他一定指代前方的某個類似邊緣的名詞，所以前方都沒有表示他只帶的就是Blank(i)，直接選(A)

再來第二句有個however表示邏輯相反，前方是有邊界的，表示however後面沒邊界，既然後面整句話要表達是沒邊界的意思，那麼transcend its former (ii)_____.當中的Blank(ii)就要填有邊界，因為前面有個超越阿，總邏輯還是要保持不狹隘的，所以(E)
